Parent's Responsibilities

At CPPP, we own the building our preschool is in and the preschool is run entirely by our parents. Parent volunteers work on everything from gardening to this website. Below is an overview of the things we ask of our parents.
Working in the Classroom

The 2's class meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9AM to 11AM and parents attend with their child(ren).

The 3's class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9AM to 11:30AM. Parents are required to work in the classroom once a week.

The 4's class meets Monday through Thursday afternoons, 12:30PM to 3:00PM. Parents are required to work in the classroom once a week.

Parent Education Meetings

Parents attend a mandatory monthly evening meeting.

Fundraising

Parents must participate in two fundraising events per year. Enrollment in the CPPP e-scrip program is also required.

Work Party

Work parties are usually held on a weekend for 4 hours. This is where a number of maintenance jobs, such as painting, putting up a new play structure, etc. are done. Parents are also able to do individual projects rather than participate in a work party if they wish. We ask that parents participate in one work party (or equivalent) equaling a total of 4 hours per year.

Support Job

Parents are required to sign up for one position such as school librarian, emergency supplies coordinator, etc.

CPPP is a nonprofit, nonsectarian, cooperative preschool, administered by the parents and licensed by the State of California. CPPP is fully accredited and sponsored by the Metropolitan Education District (MED) of Santa Clara County. CPPP is also affiliated with local and state councils of cooperative preschools.
