How CPPP keeps the lights on

Fundraising is a critical part of any parent participation school. It pays for school upgrades, like the nice new turf out front, and goes toward all kinds of stuff, from sandbox toys to silly puddy. And, of course, fundraising makes sure our tuition stays low. That is huge.

Putting the "fun" into fundraising

While it may sound corny, we want to make the fundraising activities enjoyable and rewarding for our parents and children. That’s why we do the Fall Carnival, Dining Out Nights, and the Silent Auction. It’s a way for our school community to get together in different settings, learn more about each other, and raise important funding. While we do some less thrilling fundraising event like catalog sales and electronic waste drives, these all help raise money for our school. We invite all our families to join in on the effort.

Here’s what we ask from our members:

  1. Work a total of 4 hours at one or more fundraising events;
  2. Collect at least $50 in catalog sales;
  3. Donate something cool to the Silent Auction. You can also solicit a donation from a business. It should be worth at least $100 (or donate $50 cash in lieu); and
  4. Also buy a ticket to the Silent Auction. This will be a catered event just for the adults.

Here’s a list of some of our fundraising programs. Please remember to refer families and friends!

The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. Most purchases are "smile" eligible, and it does not affect the purchase price or whether or not the purchase is Prime. This is also an easy way for anyone to help raise money for our school. To enroll:

  • Go to http://smile.amazon.com and sign into your Amazon account
  • On your first visit to AmazonSmile, you need to select Campbell Parents Participation Preschool. Amazon will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation.
  • Bookmark smile.amazon.com and make sure you're logged into AmazonSmile when you make your Amazon purchases.

Through the eScrip program website, CPPP families can register any of their existing grocery loyalty, debit, and credit cards (e.g. Safeway, Macy’s, etc.). Participating merchants contribute a percentage of any transactions to the school, based on purchases made using any registered cards.

The eScrip website also has an ‘Online Mall’ where you can shop at more than 100 stores. A percentage of these purchases will also be donated to our school. All information sent to eScrip is safe and secure, but if you have any questions about privacy or security, please visit the eScrip FAQ site.

  1. Visit www.escrip.com and click on "Sign up";
  2. Designate CPPP as the school to receive the contributions (our ID is 139983605); and
  3. Register your credit, debit, and loyalty and/or shop online through their site!

Help build our library while you build yours. Hicklebee's is a great family bookstore, and they like to help local schools. Purchase books from Hicklebee's website using our affiliate link, or when making a purchase in-store, mention Campbell Parents' Participation Preschool and we'll receive credit towards a book purchase. For every $200 spent, we get $10 credit.

Scholastic is the largest publisher of children's books in the world. Each month, you will receive a paper catalog in your school folder. You can also purchase materials online through their website. Just remember to enter our school code and director's name: J7878, Monica Grodin. CPPP will receive one point for every dollar spent. We use these points towards books, activities, supplies, and other resources for our school.

The annual Fall Carnival, held in October, brings together CPPP families, friends and alumni. We have food, drinks, a book fair, and other fun activities including pony rides, games, a bounce house, face painting, a balloon twister and more! Save for the date for our school's most popular event!

The Silent Auction is our largest fundraising event of the year. This parents-only event features great food, drinks, and entertainment. The silent auction gives you the opportunity to bid on unique, one-of-kind items and also get great deals from local restaurants, retailers, and other services. In the past, each CPPP class puts together a special handmade project for this event. The grand prize for the raffle last year was Disneyland tickets. Save the date for this end-of-the year event.

Dining Out Nights are a great way to enjoy local restaurants with other CPPP families while also raising money for our school. Parents will receive flyers in their school mailboxes promoting the event and should present it to the restaurant when dining in OR taking out. CPPP will receive a portion of the proceeds from the evening's receipts. Please remember to invite your families and friends.

All families are welcome to attend and watch a kid-friendly, G-rated movie with other preschool friends and families at the school. Enjoy inexpensive concessions too.

Check the calendar for this year's baby-sitting nights, typically held on a Friday from 6-9pm. CPPP parents volunteer at this event and it is a fun night with crafts, music and playtime. Dinner is included.

This is a fun, easy way to help the environment - and raise money for the school. We will have a scheduled collection day where you can drop off old electronics like TVs, laptops, printers, ink cartridges, and more.

Schoola is a for-profit organization that accepts used kids' and women's clothing and sells them online on a consignment basis. Forty percent of the proceeds are donated back to the school. This is one of our biggest fundraisers.

CPPP holds one catalog sale in the winter and another in the spring. The winter catalog allows friends and families to do some convenient holiday shopping while supporting the school at the same time. Our spring See's catalog drive offers some tasty treats for Easter, Passover, or any occasion.

Student can participate in creating a special art piece for their mom, grandparent, aunt or any special person in their lives. This is a parent and me event held during the weekend at the school.
